Mediterranean Summer in the Courtyard

July 10, 2010

Fronya fashion models, belly dancers, an inspiring female musician, superb volunteers and charming guests made up this first Mediterranean Summer in the Courtyard event.

On Saturday July 10th the Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley hosted its 4th fashion show. This year’s show had a Mediterranean theme and we took it outdoors.

The evening was held in the private courtyard where Fronya Thrift Boutique store is located. The event brought in exuberant talents with shimmying hips, ringing zils and balancing swords. These undulating dance troupes dazzled the crowd in the summer evening heat. Singer/ songwriter Delaney Rose took time from her busy schedule to inspire us with her songs of hope and love.

Thank you to all of the guests, volunteers, and many donors including Tammy at Magnolia’s On Main, Mr. Mikes Steakhouse & Bar, Casa Del Sol Tanning Salon, Sue’s Copy Place, Silver City Movie Theatre, Cedar Ridge Golf Course, Shoppers Drug Mart, Domain De Chaberton Winery, Oasis Rejuvenation Center & Retreat, Lorna’s Café, Uncommon Threadz, The Compass Rose, Tina Popoffs’ Jewelry, Fraser Valley Roller Derby, John Agnew at Heritage Park Secondary, Grab A Java, Laurie Strickers’ Mehndi Tattoo Art, Coby’s Hi Tech Laundry, Sisters Of The Moonlight Dance, Shimmy For The Soul, Delaney Rose and Cyndi McLeod with Sent Out Cards. Your support enhances ongoing programs for the women and children we serve.

Mission's 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Festival
held on Thursday, November 26, 2009
was a great success!

Fronya's Thrift Boutique is once again participating in Mission's Annual Christmas Cookie Festival. The cookie tour began at Murdoch's Book Shoppe (33078 First Ave) where a map was supplied that guided all to the merchants in downtown Mission who were involved with the event. The presence of the Cookie Monster, Gingerbread Man and Carollers definitely brought a taste of Christmas Cheer to the downtown area.

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the evening.

The 2009 Walk/Run for Shelter Event raised over $5,000!!

8th Annual West Coast Women's Show

The 8th Annual West Coast Women's Show October 24 – 26 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 2008.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth at the Women's Trade Show. There were over 26,000 visitors this year. The exposure for the WRSFV was fantastic; we spent 3 full days speaking and meeting with thousands of people.

Thank you to all of those who sent in the cash and donations as discussed at the event . It is not too late to send in your donations as we are still in need of them. Tampons, new underwear (for women), socks, shampoos and conditioners, hand sanitizers and mouthwash are always needed. Warm coats, hats, gloves, sleeping bags, small pillows, food gift cards and food items are always wanted as well.

For those of you who expressed an interest in volunteering come in and speak to us. We have opportunities for reception and office services as well as retail help in our clothing store – Fronya.

Thank you for your continued support!! We can be reached at 604-820-8455.
